Overcoming Colon Toxicity
What most of us is unaware about is that our colons have the tendency to store several pounds of impacted wastes. And consequently the wastes become the breeding grounds of bad bacteria and the source of toxins that burden other organs in out body.
The colon is the end part of the digestive tract. It is where the final break down of the ingested food occurs. Also, it is the organ responsible for synthesizing the essential nutrients from the food ingested that is needed by the body. However, the colon is also responsible for removing the bodily and food wastes. The reason a diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals are strongly encouraged is the fact that foods high in fat, sugar, and processed flour, largely contribute to the retention of toxins in the body.
The colon absorbs substantial amount of water from the foods ingested and when too much water is absorbed from the food the by products tend to be sticky and tend to be difficult to move down. As the colon struggles to purge out the wastes it often leads to constipation. As a result, fragments of wastes tend to stick on the colon walls. In the long run, the wastes will pile up, narrowing the passageway, which then results to chronic constipation. The worst part is that the accumulated wastes not only add unwanted and unhealthy weight on the body but is also the source of the toxins.
The body is equipped with various organs responsible for purification or elimination. These organs include the skin, the lungs, the kidneys, the liver, and the colon. Each of these organs has their own specific functions for filtering the toxins in the body. However, since the accumulated wastes in the colon become a source of more toxins, the other organs of elimination is ultimately weighed down.
Once the toxins in the colon increase and prove to be difficult to contain, the toxins can penetrate through the colon walls and eventually get into the blood stream. Once there, the toxins are given the opportunity all the other organs and glands, resulting to several illnesses that may range from chronic fatigue, migraines, constipation, and even depression and anxiety.
There are several ways to overcome colon toxicity. The most basic means to do so is by following a healthy diet and following a good exercise. A good diet and exercise will not only cleanse the colon but will enhance all the other body systems as well. Also, there are various detoxification methods that can be performed such as fasting and cleansing treatments.
Fasting encourages the body to detoxify itself. By not taking in solid food into the body and mainly depending on water or fruit juices for sustenance, the body is forced to use excess fats. As a result, the toxic excess fats are burned as the body the extra weight from the unwanted fats.
Another way to detoxify the body is through colon hydrotherapy. This procedure involves the introduction of the water into the colon via the rectum. This type of treatment is an efficient way to flush out the impacted wastes in the colon.
